Cookie Policy (UK)

This policy explains how www.canmarket.co.uk uses cookies and similar technologies, and how you can control them. For how we handle personal data more generally, see our Privacy Policy.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They let a site remember your actions and preferences, and help the site owner understand how the site is used.

How we use cookies

When you first visit the site, a banner asks which categories of cookies you allow. Nothing beyond strictly necessary cookies is set until you give consent. We group cookies into the categories below.

Strictly necessary

Required for the site to function, including remembering your cookie choice (cc_canmarket, stored for up to 6 months). These cannot be switched off.

We also use Google reCAPTCHA to protect our contact form against spam and automated abuse. It loads site-wide and may set a cookie (_GRECAPTCHA) to tell humans from bots. Because it is a security measure for a service you choose to use, it is treated as strictly necessary and is not controlled by the banner. reCAPTCHA is provided by Google under its own privacy policy.

Analytics

Help us understand how visitors use the site. We use two tools:

Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager. This runs only after you accept analytics cookies, and sets the cookies below.

Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool hosted by us. Umami sets no cookies and collects no personal data; it counts visits and page views in aggregate only. Because it stores nothing on your device and cannot identify you, it runs without consent and is not affected by your cookie choice.

Functionality

Enable enhanced features and remember preferences. We set no functionality cookies at present; this category remains off unless you opt in.

Marketing

Used to measure advertising effectiveness. We set no marketing cookies at present; this category covers any future advertising tags and remains off unless you opt in.

Google Consent Mode

We use Google Consent Mode v2. Google’s tags load in a state that stores no analytics or advertising cookies until you consent, and we never pass advertising data for personalisation without your permission.

Changing your choice

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time: manage cookie preferences. You can also delete cookies through your browser settings.
